A workshop on the Production of Biogas - Safety & Regulations has been organised by INERIS and EU-VRi on November 24th, 2010 in Paris.

The overall objective of the workshop was to bring together the European experts in biogas production to define the best practices that will support the quick and safe development of this new energy.

Practically, the operational objectives that the workshop were:

• Share information, in particular on projects, processes but also on safety and regulation in order to identify the state of the art in these fields across Europe.
• Find and understand the gaps in terms of safety and regulation.
• Propose solutions to fill those gaps and possibly prepare the base of a permanent network on safety aspects.
