The technical workshop entitled “Human factors and operational management in accidental conditions” has been organized by ETPIS / AREVA / EU-VRi with the collaboration of their members and their network.

AREVA RMC had started a new Research and Development Programme on “Human factors and operational management in accidental conditions” for 2012-2016. This new programme is a consequence of the Fukushima catastrophe. Indeed, AREVA RMC had identified the need to capitalize the existing knowledge in the field of human factors and post management crisis, to revisit the expertise within the company and to establish a new doctrine with best practices.

In order to establish the company doctrine and best practices, the idea of Mr Loine and Mr Janiaut is to benchmark with several experts working in various industry sectors. With this objective in mind, it had been decided to organize an international workshop. Indeed, the organization of a technical workshop was an opportunity to exchange with specialists on this topic during the preparation phase and also an opportunity to collect a wide range of inputs from various processes and countries.

Thus, AREVA RMC had contacted EU-VRi / ETPIS to obtain a technical support to set-up and operate an expert working group on “Human factors and operational management in accidental conditions” and to organize an International Workshop.

The expert working group worked as a technical programme committee to organize the workshop.
